When Krystal was only 7 Years old she remembers seeing The Ohio Star Ball Championships on channel 13 and wanting to dance like the people on TV. After continuous begging, her parents finally started taking Krystal to lessons when she was 8. She competed in her first competition only a few months after starting! Ever since then she has been studying, training, and competing in Ballroom, Latin, Smooth and Rhythm. Krystal has also been studying Ballet for 10 years along with Tap, Jazz, and Modern for 8 years. In 2007 Dancing With The Stars came to Atlantic City, NJ looking for young amateur dancers to take part in a small competition during their break while on tour in Atlantic City. Krystal became part of that competition at only 10 years old and received first place and a miniature version of the mirror ball trophy. When Krystal came to Rowan University to further her education, she meet Eugene LaPierre and Jonathan Cabrera, who wanted to start a Ballroom Dance team at the University. Together, they created the team and helped it become the success it is today. Throughout her college career, she continued dancing in many competitions across the Eastern Seaboard, where she met her current partner and began dancing professionally. Krystal is teacher at LaPierre Ballroom Dance Studio located in Glassboro, NJ. She is proficient and teaches all 4 styles and club and street style dancing. Krystal is also a professional dancer for Dancing With the Gloucester County Stars, where she continues to dance and raise over 2.1 million dollars for local charities. Along with DWTGCS, she also works and dances for Ballroom Dancing 4 a Better U; a non-profit 301 (c) charity that takes and teaches the joy of ballroom dancing to the elderly and people with all different disabilities in her local community. Artist Statement

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is one of the most cliche taglines that we hear often in the wonderful world of art, and yet it is true. Most artists want the viewer to have their own take-away from a piece. For myself, I aim for my own themes to be as clear as possible, while still allowing the viewer to personally connect. I am passionate about many different things - music, culture, and of course; producing, creating, and performing art. My goal for every piece I create and perform is to show this passion and authenticity. Inspiring others with your art is the greatest achievement - and the best way to do that is to just be you.
